LLYNDA MORE
A Nashville, Tennessee native, Llynda More grew up in Music City as the daughter of legendary bass player, Bob Moore, named by Life Magazine as the ‘#1 Country Bassist of All Time’. His bass lines can be heard on over 17,000 records by some of the finest recording artists America has produced...Elvis Presley, Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash, Simon & Garfunkle, Dolly Parton, Kenny Rogers, Patsy Cline, Roy Orbison...and the list goes on.
Growing up in a rich musical environment, whether it was visiting with family friends such as Johnny Cash, June Carter, Roy Clark, Hank Garland, or accompanying her father to the recording studio and meeting legendary stars such as Elvis Presley and Roy Orbison, Llynda was inspired to sing and write songs at an early age. Her abilities led her to perform in bands and compete in talent contests, and her performances rewarded her with a scholarship to Belmont University in Nashville, as well as a recording contract with CBS Records and a music writing/publishing deal with multi-media powerhouse, Warner Bros.
Outside of her writing and singing endeavors, Llynda desired to earn a law degree in the music business and was offered the opportunity to obtain scholarships through the Miss America scholarship foundation to help pay her way through college. She entered the Miss Nashville Pageant and surprisingly took home the crown, advancing her to compete on the state level in the Miss Tennessee Pageant, where she also won the title, the talent award, and additional scholarship rewards. Next stop…the Miss America Pageant, where she was one of the top six preliminary winners and performed live on network television as a top ten finalist for ten million viewers, as well as was rewarded with additional scholarship money.
Becoming Miss Tennessee afforded Llynda More so many opportunities to sing and perform that she set aside her law career to become a full-time singer/songwriter which lead to her being signed to CBS Records in the all female group, Calamity Jane. An offer to sign with Warner Bros. as a songwriter and record producer soon led her to move to New York City where she wrote, performed, and produced songs that have been in films and television, as well as recorded by other artists. In New York, she and longtime partner, Mark Gendel, also had a successful original rock band that performed in the NYC club circuit, but they eventually moved back to Nashville to pursue their own independent record label. The More & Gendel writing/production team was soon offered a regular live performance schedule at Mandalay Bay Resort in Las Vegas where they moved and currently reside. They continue to write and produce songs and videos, and they perform live in various shows and venues in the entertainment capital of the world.
Llynda’s creative talent doesn’t stop at music. She has always had a natural flair for solving problems and a keen eye for fashion, and she combined those talents to invent and patent a game-changing idea…a woman’s two-piece fashion boot that transforms into 30 different styles. (www.LlyndaMoreBoots.com) Her innovative concept allows women to meet their changing fashion needs on demand, custom fit their calves, travel easier, store more efficiently, and enjoy the economical benefits of owning many styles for the price of one pair of boots.
